85 years ago today, on October 29, 1923, the Turkish constitution was amended and Turkey became a republic. Every year on this day, the founding of the independent republic is remembered throughout the country.

In Izmir, the spectacular celebrations include the march past of armed forces, massive parades, fireworks and air force flyby.

Exhibition: Izmir Through Pozitifstil's Eye

"Pozitifstil Photography Group" exhibition featuring photography by 27 artists opens on October 18 and run through October 27 in the Konak Metro Station. The exhibition will examine how Izmir is portrayed by the group members. One of my works "framed life" will also be featured.
