a day: stolen from summer
İzmir, Çeşme, Boyalık Bay
We spent most of the day outside next to the sea, enjoying the unseasonably warm weather. This was like a day stolen from summer.

waiting for mermaid
Tales of mermaids are nearly universal. Various cultures throughout the world have similar figures. The Aegean Sea, it seems, was full of such creatures like mermaids. A popular Greek legend has Alexander the Great's sister, Thessalonike, turn into a mermaid after her death. She lived, it was said, in the Aegean and when sailors would encounter her, she would ask them only one question: "Is Alexander the king alive?", to which the correct answer would be "He lives and still rules". Any other answer would spur her into a rage, where she transformed into a Gorgon and meant doom for the ship and every sailor onboard.

shoreline
...like the shoreline that divides the sea and sand,
I'm a surface ever changing...

winter beach
Photo: Çeşme, Şantiye Beach
Visiting the sandy shore in winter might provide a new perspective on the beach. Some would say that there is no greater pleasure than to walk a deserted beach on a cold but sunny day in winter.

always smile at your neighbors - komşularına her zaman gülümse
Horses and horseback riding are deeply woven into the culture and history of Turkey. I noticed this smiling horse at one of the horseback riding clubs of İzmir.
Türk kültürü ve tarihinde atların ve biniciliğin önemli yerleri vardır. Gülümseyen atı, Buca Atlı Spor İhtisas Kulübü'nde görüntüledim.
Thanks to Clarice & Petrea; I am absolutely honored to be a recipient of the "you make my day" award. In this spirit my awards go to;
And to all of others who truly make my day, every day. My day lights up every time I see a comment from somebody.

framed life - çerçeveli hayat
It was my lucky day to notice and capture that melancholic man during an open-air photo exhibition of a photographer Kutup Dalgakiran held at the famous esplanade "Kordonboyu" over the Gypsy's life themed “The gypsy is spring itself” in Turkey.
Fotoğraf sanatçısı Kutup Dalgakıran'ın Kordonboyu'nda düzenlenen "Çingene bizzat bahardır..." temalı açık hava sergisi sırasında bu melankolik adam kadrajıma takıldı.

Fishing can be described as active or passive depending on the effort involved. Two retired gentlemen, sharing their passion for fishing in a comfortable way on the famous esplanade in İzmir, known as Kordonboyu.
Balıkçılık, harcanan çabaya göre aktif ya da pasif olarak tanımlanabilir. Kordonboyu'nda iki emekli, avcılık tutkularını en konforlu şekliyle tatmin ediyorlar...

audience - seyirciler
one of my attempts to explore sensation and meaning in movement... the poster in the background is about the soldiers from my city of Izmir who lost their lives during the gallipoli campaign (çanakkale wars), which are one of the most important, vast and significant wars of the history that happened during the first world war.
hareketteki anlamı ve duyguyu keşfetmek için giriştiğim denemelerden biri... arka plandaki panoda görünenler, birinci dünya savaşında, çanakkale savaşları sırasında gelibolu'da muhtemelen şehit düşen izmirli askerler.
