opal

Cesme, Izmir
Opals show such a striking play of colours. The spheres, which are arranged in more or less compact structures, succeed in dissecting the light on its passage through the gemstone, always new and always different.

The colours of opal that we find here in Australia - in a small place called Coober Pedy- are red, blue and turquoise.

Once again your composition produces such delicate shades and waves ...

I take issue with you on this one. Opals, at least our opals, have more depth and strength of colour, especially the black ones with the shafts of deep red (my favourites). Lovely photo, but not opal colours to me.

When are you going to tell us how you do this?
